The Youth Services Department serves young people from birth through nineteen, their parents and caregivers, teachers, university students, community organizations, and professionals who work with youth in a variety of capacities. You will find our highlighted activities listed below or browse our library events calendar for upcoming activities and programs.

Volunteer at the library!

We are seeking responsible and enthusiastic teen volunteers entering grades 6 and up to help out in Youth Services during the Summer Library Program.  Activities and hours vary.  Click here to view and print the volunteer application.  Fill it in and drop it off at the Youth Services desk on your next visit to the library.  Applications are due no later than Monday, May 21For more information, please call us at 715-839-5007, email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Creative Writing Workshop with local author Katie McKy

Join us on Tuesday, May 22 at 4 p.m. for a fun event with local children's book author Katie McKy.  Students in grades 2 and up are invited to attend this one-hour workshop that will combine students, an author of funny books for kids, and ordinary household objects.  This program will be in the Eau Claire Room on the lirbary's lower level, and registration is not necessary.  Click here to see the program flier.  For more information, please call us at 715-839-5007, email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Surf, Sun, and Reading Fun! Summer Library Program 2012

June 1 - August 15, 2012

Sign up starting June 1 to get your reading folder and start reading at your level for prizes along the way.  Complete your folder by August 15 to be entered in a final prize drawing as well.

Join us June 4 to July 27 for storytimes and crafts for kids.  We have storytimes and crafts for many different ages starting at birth!  Check out the full Summer Library Program Flyer here for more information.

TumbleBooks, animated picture books that you can read or have read to you, are available through our website. Games and puzzles based on children’s literature are also available, as are books in foreign languages.  Unlimited, free access of this service is available by clicking here.
