Placing Holds
Holds may be placed on all circulating items found in the MORE online catalog. You can place a hold from the online catalog on the Internet or by contacting Information & Reference at 715-839-5004.

  • You will be notified by e-mail, telephone or mail when your hold is ready to be picked up.
  • There is a limit of 50 holds per library card.

If you would like to be notified by e-mail, you may add or change your e-mail address via Modify Personal Information through My Account.

Telephone Notification Service
The MORE automated online catalog now includes a telephone notification service (TNS) that will automatically call you when your library item is ready to be picked up. If you’re not home, it will leave a message on your answering machine or voice mail. This service replaces notification through the mail, thus creating significant savings in postage and staff time. Please contact Circulation Services at 715-839-5003 if you prefer not to receive telephone calls regarding items that are ready for you to pick up at the library.

E-mail Notification
E-mail notification is also an easy way to become informed of items that are ready for you at the library. If you would like to participate, please send an e-mail containing the e-mail address you would like us to use and your library card number, found just below the barcode on your library card.
Send this information to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Library Elf
Manage your checkouts and holds and checkouts through Library Elf, a free online online service.  Sign up and Elf will notify you of what's due, overdue or ready for pickup.

Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan is a free service, giving access to library materials (both academic and public) that our library consortium doesn’t own. Materials ordered on interlibrary loan through this library must also be picked up and returned at L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library. Checkout periods are usually similar to those of our library. A realistic response time is two to three weeks, but it can be anywhere from one to six weeks, depending on the availability of the item.

You can request your own Interlibrary loan items through WISCAT. Discover and request items in the collections of over 1,200 Wisconsin libraries. You may have the items sent to this library provided that you follow these guidelines:

  • Customers who want to initiate their own interlibrary loan requests must complete a training session given by a Reference Services staff member
  • This service is only available to Eau Claire County residents with valid library cards
  • Customers need to check our online catalog first and may not order anything that is listed in the catalog including items that are for library use only
  • Customers are limited to Five requests per week

Renewing Interlibrary Loan Material
To check on the possibility of a renewal, call the Holds and Resource Sharing office at 715-839-3877 weekdays between 9am and 3 pm at least Three days before the due date.

You may have up to 100 items checked out on you library card at any one time.  Certain formats such as DVDs, CDs and audiobooks have limitations and various loan periods.
