THE EXHIBIT
This show features 30 cold wax paintings that chronicle Denise Presnell’s artistic journey from March 2020 through May 2021—or during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Denise is a painter/mixed media artist. She earned a BFA in Printmaking from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and an MFA in Painting from the Pennsylvania State University. Following graduate school, she taught art for 31 years at the college/university level. She says, “My intuitive, introspective work embraces change in a precarious balance between chaos and compositional control. Images can go spiraling out of control at any given point of my process–which is a good sign that the work has promise.”
Her artwork has been exhibited in over one hundred solo, group, and competitive exhibitions across the United States as well as exhibitions in Japan, Botswana, Kenya, and China. Denise currently lives and works in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Learn more at www.denisepresnell.com.
