ARTIST STATEMENT
Robert Barfknecht has been painting watercolors for fifty years. Since retiring, he has become a “Snowbird,” a name given to someone lucky enough to be able to enjoy good weather, whatever the season. He enjoys summer and fall in Northern Wisconsin and winter and spring in Southern Florida. The fine weather enables him to paint watercolors—en plein air—as the French say.
Robert’s work is displayed at private and public spaces in Italy and around the United States, including libraries and schools in Florida and Wisconsin.
Plein Air Paintings North and South is a collection of his recent works, painted mostly, but not always, in fine weather.
