THE EXHIBIT
Each year, selected artists are invited to submit their work to be included in a themed summer exhibit. This year’s show, “Something in the Water” explores the forces that shape our environments and emotions, currents both visible and unseen. This exhibition invites artists to consider water as both subject and metaphor—reflecting ideas of movement, tension, transformation, and what lies just beneath the surface.

This year, the exhibit features works from the following 34 talented artists: Abby Borash, Jamie Bowers, Gerlyn Brasic, Kay Brathol-Hostvet, Paul Cyr, Virginia Duerst, Gary Egger, Eleni Hein, Mary Hermanson, Marlin Hostvet, Katie Jae, Sheri Klein, Benjamin LeMay, Ellen Mahaffy, Tim Manus, Joe Maurer, Terry Meyer, Ellen Nelson, Jeff Nelson, Don Olson, Brian Paral, CV Peterson, Michael Peterson, Janice Roberts, Heidi Schreiner, Kristi Schumacher, Russel Semerau, Anders Shafer, Barbara Shafer, Rachel Urban, Madilyn Vetter, Bruce Warren, Sarah Williams, and Jake Woehlke.
Upcoming Shows
It’s All About the Light
Artists: Kay Brathol-Hostvet and Marlin Hostvet
Dates: Sept. 14–Octo. 26
Reception: Thursday, Sept. 17, 6–7 p.m.
Kay Brathol-Hostvet and Marlin Hostvet are husband and wife artists working in different media, yet both enamored with the effects of light. Kay’s pastel paintings are often celebrations of light and shadow as it plays across the landscape. Marlin’s fused glass is a perfect media for showcasing the interplay between various light sources and transparent and opaque glass.
Walking You Home
Artist: Susan Sveda-Pachaud
Dates: Nov. 2–Dec. 21
Reception: Thursday, Nov. 5, 6–7 p.m.
Susan Sveda-Pachaud created this body of work to explore love, death, and memory. Her mother was cremated without a funeral service. This exhibit is Susan’s very own funeral for her mother.
