What’s a BookBike?

The BookBike is a very small library branch on wheels. It is a custom-built trailer pulled by a bicycle that brings library materials out into the community to local destinations and events. Check out materials, sign up for a library card, get answers to reference questions, learn how to download digital content, and so much more. The BookBike gives librarians a new way to connect with residents of all ages, showcase the library’s digital content, provide an unexpected library experience, and give a fresh perspective of the public library.

Funding for the BookBike was provided by the library’s endowment fund, which is managed by the Eau Claire Community Foundation.
