What Is Home Delivery?

The L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library delivers library materials to customers whose health or other circumstances make it too difficult for them to come to the library themselves.

Our Mission

To enhance the quality of life for individuals by providing access to diverse library materials and promoting lifelong learning through delivery services.

Who Is Eligible?

We deliver to addresses in the City of Eau Claire and Eau Claire County as long as:

  • a volunteer can be found to deliver to that address.
  • their municipality doesn’t have its own library.

How Does It Work?

Home Delivery volunteers deliver materials to customers in the program. The customer is encouraged to commit to at least two months of participation. Materials are picked up and delivered every three weeks.

How Do I Apply?

Just click the button below to get started online, call 715-839-4857, or email homedeliveryservice@eauclaire.lib.wi.us. A short interview will be conducted by our Home Delivery Coordinator.

Due to the program’s popularity, there may be a short wait for newcomers. 

What Kind of Materials May I Borrow?

  • Customers may receive books, audiobooks, music CDs, Blu-rays and DVDs, video games, and magazines.
  • Customers may request specific titles on the MORE Online Catalog or library staff will select items for you based on your preferences.
  • Downloadable media services (e-books, e-audiobooks, etc.) are available to Home Delivery customers.
  • Online research resources including consumer and legal research, genealogy, local history, health, government and grant information, phone numbers and addresses, auto repair, investment research, and language learning are all available.
  • Interlibrary Loan service (ILL) is available to Home Delivery customers. ILL items cannot be renewed.
