Petronelle ("Nellie") Olsen Torgeson and Thomas had 3 children. 1. the common head stone for Petronelle "Nellie" Torgeson and her two daughters, Edna Mae Torgeson and Gunella Torgeson. They are buried at Lakeview Cemetery, EC at Block 92, Lot 17. 2. Nellie and Thomas had a son Cornell Edwin Torgeson who is also buried at Lakeview with his wife Marguerite but at Block C, NE-36.The last name was originally Torgerson but other spellings were also used over the years. Nellie was married to Thomas (born Torgerson, about 1865) who was a brother to my paternal great grandmother Sine Torgerson Severson. Both Sine and Thomas were born on North Manitou Island, MI, about 12 miles off the NW coast of MI. That island was the source of chopped wood for steamers going through the Great Lakes on their way to Chicago.Nellie and her 2 daughters are buried at Lakeview Cemetery, Block 92, Lot 17. I'm trying to locate when and where Thomas died but presumably it was by 1902 because the EC City Directory at that time listed Nellie as the widow of Thomas.Petronelle Torgeson and her 2 daughters, Edna and Gunella, all buried under one headstone at Lakeview Cemetery. birthdate from SSDI |
