Our Mission
The library promotes lifelong learning, creates collaborative spaces, and supports open access to diverse materials and resources to enhance the quality of life in the community.
Work with interesting, energetic people.
You’ll have all kinds of fun, hard-working co-workers at the library. Our interests are diverse, our attitude is positive, and we welcome new additions to our staff with enthusiasm.
Know your work benefits your community.
Public libraries play a critical role in the fight to provide equal access to information, opportunity, and entertainment. No matter what you do for the library, you are an important part of a uniquely American institution.
Take pride in being part of a productive team.
Many jobs at the library absolutely rely on the ability to work together as a team. Even people in jobs that include a lot of independent tasks support their co-workers and are supported by them. You definitely don’t have to be an extrovert to work here, but working well with and for others is required.
Feel safe and appreciated at work.
We are committed to providing a safe and pleasant workplace for ALL our employees. Discrimination and harassment are not tolerated. Diversity of all kinds, including race, gender, sexual identity, backgrounds, ideas, and pretty much anything else you can think of is encouraged and supported.
Stay current with new books, media, and events.
Believe it or not, we aren’t all bookworms. That said, we do keep up with new releases and upcoming events as part of our jobs. Staff members have the same borrowing privileges as everyone else, but it’s sure handy to be here on a regular basis.
