Books for Babies
Books for Babies is a year-long program that provides free literacy kits to the parents of all babies born in Eau Claire at Sacred Heart, Marshfield Clinic and Mayo Clinic hospitals.
The Books for Babies program promotes childhood literacy, parent-child bonding and infant cognitive development. Parents and their newborns are presented with a Books for Babies kit that contains:
- A board book
- An application for a library card
- A one-year free family membership to the Friends of the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library
- Brochures with reading tips and early literacy information
