Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Every year, the Friends of the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library provides volunteers for multiple programs and events. Please explore the many needs below and sign up to volunteer!
Recurring volunteer opportunities:
• Bookstore Assistant: Volunteers help in the bookstore by collecting donations and answering questions. Shifts are 1.5 hours and available for sign up any time the library is open.
• Adopt-a-Shelf: Volunteers keep their assigned shelves clean and organized. This can be done any time the library is open.
• Committee/Board Work: Executive board members monitor the financial health of the organization and ensure the Friends are living up to their mission. Requires preparation for and attendance at monthly meetings. Board members also help out as volunteers in other areas.
• Home Delivery: Volunteers deliver books to homebound community members.
Occasional volunteer opportunities:
• Book Sales: Volunteers help by taking donations and helping to set up and tear down the sale.
• Events and Programs: Volunteers are needed to take admissions, sell books at author events, help with set up and tear down, and more. Youth Services will occasionally need volunteers to help with kid and teen events during school breaks.
• Give-A-Kid-A-Book: Volunteers are needed to help sort, sticker, and deliver books during peak donation times, especially November/December.
