| Notes | WEDNESDAY (28 FEBURARY 1896 NEWSPAPER), THE BODY OF A YOUNG MAN NAMED AL. WOLCOTT WAS FOUND NEAR RICE LAKE, WEDNESDAY. A BULLET HAD PASSED THROUGH THE JUGULAR VEIN AND LODGED IN THE TOP OF HIS HEAD OVER THE LEFT EAR. HE IS SAID TO BE A SON OF A WIDOW LIVING IN CHETEK. IT WAS AT FIRST THOUGHT TO BE A CASE OF SUICIDE, BUT THE VERDICT OF THE JURY AT THE INQUEST WAS THAT HE CAME TO HIS DEATH BY THE HANDS OF UNKNOWN PARTIES. WARRANTS ARE NOW OUT FOR THE ARREST OF THREE PARTIES WHO WERE SEEN WITH THE YOUNG MAN LATE THE NIGHT BEFORE. |
