Parent Play and Learn

  • The purpose of these programs is for parents and caregivers to get fresh ideas for joyful activities to share with their young child(ren) at home, and learn how their early experiences connect to later learning. Children are welcome at these programs.
  • Handouts from each week’s session will be posted here after the program.

Story Kits

  • Twenty themed kits appropriate for preschool aged children.
  • Each kit contains approximately 12 books, story props and educational toys.
  • Available on a first-come, first-served basis and may not be placed on hold.

Nature Backpack

Nature Backpacks

  • On the lookout for outdoor fun? Take along one of our nature backpacks!
  • Contains a variety of field guides and other nature related books as well as tools for observing and exploring nature, games and other hands-on materials for your whole family to share.
  • Available for check out on a first come, first served basis at the Youth Services desk.

Babysitter Backpack

  • Do you love babysitting? Want to make it even more fun? Take our babysitter backpack to work with you!
  • The babysitter backpack contains books, games, and toys that are sure to make your time babysitting extra-special.
  • Available for check out at the Youth Services desk.

STEAM Backpack

  • Are you looking for science, technology, engineering, art, and math fun for school-aged kids?
  • The STEAM backpack includes books, games, and hands-on activities that you and your child can explore at home.
  • Contains small pieces. This backpack is meant for children ages 6+.
  • Available for check out at the Youth Services desk.


  • Bring your students to the library for a visit!
  • We can present a special storytime, give your group catalog instruction or a tour of the library, and show your students how much the library has to offer.
  • Tell us your ideas and we will custom-design a library visit just for your group.
  • Kids can get a library card during their tour, just have parents fill out applications prior to your visit.

Study Room

  • Need a quiet place to study?
  • Available for homeschool groups, tutors and students, reading partners, or groups of students working together on projects or homework.
  • May be reserved up to one month in advance, and is available for walk-ins if the room is not reserved.

Parent Teacher Resource Room

Parent and Teacher Resource Room

  • For adults who work with children
  • Collection of books of interest primarily to early childhood professionals, and others who work with young children.
  • Die Cut collection to use in the library. Bring your own paper and use the machine to quickly punch out shapes. For more information, see here.
