Through the Trees

“While out on a early spring woods walk, I was inspired to capture this moment in a painting.

Lovely warm sunshine on tree tops, falling through on the cool snow below. This lighted my path and created a sense of tranquility for me. Back in the studio using my photo and memory as reference, I painted this scene.

I toned the museum board by drawing in the big shapes with a complementary color in pastel and a turpenoid wash. That was followed by various layers of soft pastel. Enjoy!”
