Mitchell Spencer

photograph

“One of the major influences has been the cinematography of Sergei Eisenstien, Leni Riefenstahl, Orson Wells, etc during the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. The use of camera angle, lighting, composition, etc, in films of this period are an influence in my photography and videography. In my work, I am looking to take a familiar views and capture part or the whole view in an artistic way by using layers and textures. Recently, some of my work as photographer and videographer has been related to social and environment issues to heighten the viewer awareness.”
