“I have been a somewhat conventional woodworker for around 20 years. I’ve grown tired of straight lines and perfectly flat surfaces. As craftsmen we too often mimic the precision of a CNC or machine made objects. Instead of allowing tool marks or the human quality to prevail. These pieces are an exploration into shape, form, and a less refined look. I let the organic shape of the tree guide most of my process. Often the pieces take on an animalistic look because of this. I am excited to continue morphing this series of wooden objects. ”
