“The paintings embrace intuitive approaches that allow for shapes, patterns and compositions to emerge through collage-like layerings, overlaps, justapositions, and refinements.

Themes of the paintings are evidenced in titles that are generated from my intuitive responses to the paintings in the space/time of creating the paintings.

The themes across the paintings embrace the concepts of change, liminality, the crossing of thresholds and the disruptions that precede such passages. Titles, while not explanations, help to connect to personal, cultural and visual associations and contextualize imagery into a lens for understanding deeper meanings and associations behind the arrangements of color and form.”
