“Kay Geraghty started sketching her home town of Mondovi Wi. as she walked the quiet streets during the 2020 covid lock down. It has become a fun storyteller’s dream. She started sharing her illustrations on the Our Town Mondovi Wi. Facebook page and many friends and residents from far and near started to share their old and new memories of the buildings she was sharing. Kay tries to make a ‘jolly’ interpretation of each business or illustration. She has her work printed on thick canvas boards that she finishes with a heavy acrylic gel or has giclee prints on fine art paper printed with archival ink. She is planning a book or calendar of her town in the future. Sketching and finishing her illustrations on her iPad is fun but very different from her past and more prominent art mediums which are photography and encaustic painting(painting with hot wax and damar resin). She hopes you enjoy her illustrations as you can see she has started to branch out to other towns.”
