“I am a multimedia artist that works primarily with stained glass, but I want to branch out from the traditional use of stained glass in art. I am currently experimenting with doing the one thing you try not to do when using glass: break it. In my piece “You’re A Broken Record” I wanted to express some of the things heard time and time again that after a while lose their meaning. Like glass, some of them felt so sharp to hear in the beginning, but like a broken record, after a while words that meant something turn into nonsense. As I cut and ground then broke the glass, it was kind of amazing to break those words apart in my hands and realize how fragile they are.”
