Free Tax Assistance Programs (VITA/TCE)
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program:
VITA volunteers provide free tax assistance to anyone with an adjusted gross annual income of $57,000 or less including disabled, non-English speaking, senior citizens, and special needs taxpayers. TCE:
TCE is a volunteer program supported by the AARP. According to the IRS website, they offer assistance to people 60 years of age and older. This year, the L.E. Phillips Senior Center is offering TCE services in a drop-off and pick-up model with no in-person appointments. Call 715-839-4909, extension 106.

IRS Tax Withholding Estimator
The Tax Withholding Estimator offers taxpayers a more user-friendly, step-by-step tool for tailoring the amount of income tax they have withheld from wages and pension payments. More people with certain tax situations can use this tool than before, such as retirees and self-employed individuals. The newly designed, mobile-friendly tool has plain language throughout to improve comprehension and several new functions. You can learn more on the FAQ page.
