3 Pieces of Advice

This post is a guest submission from Young Adult Advisory Board member, Kyra B.

Hey, I’m Kyra! I’m currently a senior in high school so as someone who is, in my opinion, too old I’m here to give you some advice. I may be a very big hypocrite by writing this since many of these things I didn’t start doing till this year or I still haven’t done.

My first piece of advice is do things. Yeah it’s cliché and dumb to say but it’s honestly good advice. There’s a phrase I say often that’s pretty dumb but it’s basically “everything is edible once.” Basically you can and should do everything at least once, just maybe think before you do it and try not to die.

My second piece of advice is do your homework. Yes this seems obvious but you’d be surprised how many people I know don’t religiously do their homework. Yes I’m kind of a nerd and will come home and do homework for hours until I’ve done as much as I can. I’m not saying you should do that. Just get as much done as you can and try your best on it but if you just had a sports game and need sleep go to sleep.

Last piece of advice. This one is kind of cliché too but be yourself. No one cares if you’re popular or not. Just exist in a way that makes you happy as long as you’re not hurting others.
