Chill Out in the Teen Lounge

August 10, 2023/in Teens/by Sadie

Are you looking for a chill safe space for your teen to hang out? The library has you covered!

Check out our Teen Lounge on Level 1, just to the left of the main entrance. This space is just for teens in grades 7-12. It features tables to work at, computers, a printer, Teen study rooms, and comfy chairs. The library wants teens to have a place they can feel is theirs; no adults and no little kids. This opens the door for teens to meet and have fun with each other and explore the library more independently.

Teens can use the space unattended. Computers are available for any teen library card holders. No library card? No problem! Teens ages 13-16 can come to the Youth Services desk and get a guest pass. The Teen Lounge also has fun activities that teens can check out whenever they come into the library including a Would You Rather Wall, board games, and more! Sometimes a Youth Services Staff member hangs out in the Teen Lounge to help teens, and other times teens can always ask for help at the Youth Services desk in the back corner of Level 1.

In short, the Teen Lounge is a wonderful place for older kids to hang out, study, enjoy the teen collection, and feel that they have a space in the library. We hope you see your teen in the library very soon!
