Teen events, prizes, and more!

Our Summer Library Program is here! What’s the Summer Library Program, you may ask? It’s a free program in which you read and complete easy activities to earn a prize (plus fun events!).

The Basics

  1. Sign up, June 1 – July 16
  2. Read and complete activities
  3. Earn a free book (and entries into the Teen Prize Raffle)

First, SIGN UP to begin tracking your reading and activities. You have three tracking options to choose from: You can use the app Beanstack Tracker; you can use a paper reading record; you can use a pdf copy of a reading record. CHOICES. Beanstack has a reading goal set for you, but you can set your own goal for paper/pdf reading records. And, I want to emphasize this, ADAPT these goals as you need to. Challenge yourself, but don’t make it an impossible challenge.

Second, READ and complete ACTIVITIES. No matter what method you choose to track participation, the most important thing is to keep reading. Read happy books, sad books, fantasy books, comic books, historical books, biographical books, etc. etc. etc. Just remember to get your reading in this summer and keep track of how much you do.

Teens (entering grades 6-12) need to also complete 5 easy activities (e.g. try a new food), and have the option to complete BONUS activities. These bonus activities earn you extra entries into the Teen Prize Raffle. If you’re not interested in the prize raffle, feel free to skip ’em!

Third, earn PRIZES. When you SIGN UP for the reading program, you receive a free book and entries into the Teen Prize Raffle. For signing up! I mean, FREE BOOK and raffle entries for reading whatever you want. Pretty sweet, right? Plus, you could win an awesome raffle prize (book bundle, anyone?).
