They came to Menomonie in the early 1840s when there were only two white women in the entire region of Dunn, Chippewa and EC Counties. At beginning of Civil War went to Reed's Landing and remained until 1875 when came to EC. Husband died in 1889 in EC. After that Mrs. B. went to Menomonie to live with daguther. Was one of the first women in Wisc. to advocate temperance on platform. Bullard House at Reed's Landing great financial success with no liquor on premises.
