[none] Second Ward School (also called Thorp or Boyd) Renamed Second Ward School.
[none] Wisconsin Central Railroad Dashing through Barstow St. traffic was switch engine backing across Soo bridge. Switch was set to carry southbound traffic over bridge. Engineer Fred Cook shifted car & put on full steam to back up & hit car before it hit bridge. Runaway hit curve leading to bridge with such force it buckled a rail which slowed car enough so that impact with engine stopped it. No one hurt.
