All three board members served for two terms. Brant, a Business Analyst Consultant, served as Eau Claire County’s representative from 2015 to 2021, and held the office of Vice President of the Board (2019–2020). Bob Eierman, a retired Professor of Chemistry, served from 2015 to 2021, and held the offices of Vice President of the Board (2016–2017), and President of the Board (2017–2021). Linda Stelter, a retired Media Specialist, served from 2015 to 2021, and held the office Secretary of the Board (2017–2021).

“I’ve been deeply honored to work with the outgoing board members. Each member has brought unique talents to help move the library forward,” said Pamela Westby, Library Director. “Bob has strategic planning experience and strong leadership abilities. Linda has passion for and knowledge of library services and financial aptitude. Brenda has a love for data collection and analysis and experience with community relationship building. Their dedication is deeply appreciated.”

The Library Board of Trustees meets monthly, and has statutorial responsibility for establishing and overseeing the library budget, for creating and updating library policies, and for hiring and supervising the Library Director. The Board has exclusive control of the library’s finances, and also works with the Friends of the Library to supplement library offerings through fund-raising and friend-raising activities. The nine-member Board includes a representative of the Superintendent of Schools and a representative of the City Council, both of whom are determined by the agency they represent. The remaining seven members are drawn from the Citizen Resource Bank, and are appointed by the Eau Claire City Council as Board vacancies arise.

If you would like to be considered for the Library Board, all applications to City Boards, Commissions and Committees begin by filling out the Citizen Resource Form, available online at www.cognitoforms.com/CityOfEauClaire/CitizenResourceBankForm. Make sure you indicate the Library Board as one of your preferred options.
