“At 65 yrs old, I’ve been an Artist my entire life. In recent years, I find that I have a particularly special affinity for Raptors – Birds of Prey! I decided a few years ago to explore this as a genre in my Artwork! This piece is #3 in my ‘Eagles of the World’ series! I hope you’ll enjoy. it! The Martial Eagle lives in Africa & is one of the world’s largest & most powerful Eagles! Per Wikipedia / Google : ” The largest eagle in Africa, the Martial eagle weighs in at almost 14 pounds (6.5 Kg.) and has a wingspan of about 6 feet 4 inches. It is 32 inches long. The upperparts are dark brown with a white belly with black streaks, the legs are white and has very large talons. . . . .capable of knocking an adult man off his feet. They reputedly have enough power in one foot to break a man’s arm. In portraying this magnificent creature, I felt this black & white medium suits this subject uniquely well, since they are black & white in color! My desire in doing the series of works ‘Eagles of the World’ is to inspire people to educate themselves regarding the vast abundance of diversity of Eagles throughout the world! I found the project very educational and even enlightening! I hope you will be inspired to explore them as well!”
