Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose my own books?
Absolutely. Select any book that fits the categories below. (You don’t have to pick one from our suggestions.)
Can I read ahead?
Sure, but you’ll still need to report one activity (book or free space) each month to qualify for monthly drawings.
Can I catch up?
Yes, but you can only be entered into each monthly drawing once.
Do I have to read the assigned category for the month or can I jump around?
You can jump around months. If you read June’s category in January you will still be entered in the monthly drawing.
Do my challenge books count for other programs?
Yes! Books you read for this challenge also count towards your reading for our seasonal adult reading programs.

Do you have a printable flyer for this challenge that I can distribute to my students?
Hello, Lori! We have free journals outlining the challenge that participants can pick up at the library when they register and the challenge is also outlined in Beanstack, creating a digital method of participating in the challenge that is paper free. Students can register for Beanstack through an app or from a web browser and it is also free. If you would rather we created a simpler handout for your students to use as they participate, please email us at librarian@eauclaire.lib.wi.us and we will create a more abbreviated flyer that will be suitable for your students to use for the challenge. Thank you!
