Year End Giving with Friends of the Library
As 2024 ends, one might be looking for new ways to give back to the community. The Friends of the Library are thankful for everyone’s generous support over the last 35 years. Our small non-profit organization has been able to make a big impact on the community since its incorporation in 1989. While there are numerous, well deserving organizations out there that support this community, we hope you would consider The Friends of the Library with any year-end giving funds. Our mission is to encourage literacy, expression, and discovery in the Chippewa Valley through support to the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library and the surrounding community.
Ways That You Can Give to the Library
- Support the 30th Annual Friends of the Library Give a Kid a Book campaign. Now through December 16th the Friends are
collecting NEW books for kids ages birth – 18 years old. Book donations can be dropped off at the Friends of the Library Bookstore (Level 0 of the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library, now – December 16) or find the Seasonal Bear display in the library (December 2 – December 16). Monetary Donations can be sent directly to the Friends of the Library (attn: GAKAB, 400 Eau Claire St., Eau Claire WI 54701) or online. - Join the Friends of the Library. Every Library Needs a Friend! The Friends of the Library is a small non-profit organization that supports the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library each year with donations of both volunteer hours and financial support.
- You can often see a Friends volunteer at library programs giving the staff an extra set of helping hands.
- We also provide a monetary gift back to the library to help fund library programs such as:
- One Book One Community
- Teen Book Boxes
- Dabble Box supplies, to name a few.

- Volunteer for the Friends of the Library. The Friends of the Library always need more volunteers.
- Our Bookstore is a wonderful place to spend a few hours a week helping the community find its next best book to read.
- Our Adopt A Shelf program is very popular and helps the library staff keep the stacks clean and organized.
