Bring the Festival Home!

In my last blog post, I talked about all the amazing things you can do during the summer here in Eau Claire. Among those were some sweet music festivals and events like Country Jam, Blue Ox Music Festival, or Sounds Like Summer Concert Series, and I hope you were able to check them out. If you did, did you find an artist or band that you really liked and wanted to listen to more of their music? Well you’re in luck because the library has added a ton of music CDs to our collection from the artists who performed in the area this summer.

We have lots of great CDs from popular country headliners like Jason Aldean (Rearview Town), Jake Owen (American Love), and Blake Shelton (Texoma Shore). But we didn’t just bring CDs from only the big name artists; we also brought in ones from the smaller acts that you may have discovered for the first time while at the festivals. This includes artists and bands like Stetsin and Lace (On the Run), Devin Dawson (Dark Horse), and Two Way Crossing (Déjà vu).

We also added a bunch of awesome Blues and Bluegrass musicians from Blue Ox and Tuesday Night Blues! You can relisten to great hits by artists like Charlie Parr (Dog) and support local artists like the Paul Tweed Band (BarN Sessions) and Howard “Guitar” Luedtke (Goin’ Down to Alabama). If rock music is more your thing, we have the latest CDs from Rock Fest performers Incubus (8), Seether (Poison the Parish), Filthy Sweet (Honey Bucket) and much more!

We even have some CDs of musicians that will be performing in August up in Chippewa at Blues on the Chippewa! You can check out or place a hold on the newest material from Katy G and the Girls (Remember What you Knew Before) and Joyann Parker (Hard to Love)!

So whether you went there and want to relive the awesome memories from this summer, or want to show your friend the awesome new band you found at the festival, the library is here to help!
