International Games Celebration!!!
It’s that time of year again! Except, this year it’s even better! “Why?” you might ask. Well, because International Games Week is now International Games Month! We have an entire month to celebrate. And that means that we don’t have to cram all of the activities in a few days anymore.
Here is a rundown of everything you can find that is games-related at the library this year.
First, we will have board games out in both the Dabble Box Makerspace and at the Readers Advisory Display by the Reference Desk. Also, if you were not aware, we have a set of board games permanently available to be used in the library. You can find these games on the shelves next to the Reference Desk and they will be available even after November!
Another activity we will have available are the print & play board games we have offered in the past. They’ll be out in the Dabble Box for anyone to either take home, or to play using our coloring supplies.
For our first organized event, we are starting off with our annual Adult Game Night, registration for which has almost filled up as of the writing of this blog post! It starts at 6pm at the Brewing Projekt on Friday, November 4th. If you happen to find this before registration fills, you can go here to register.
Our second event will be another returning event, Roleplaying at the Library. This is another registration-only event and has one session for adults, and another for teens. It will take place on Saturday, November 12th from 1-3pm for teens and from 3:30-5:30pm for adults.
We’re introducing a new event this year called Dabble Box Nostalgia Night with our newest GITL (Games in the Library) team member, Jan! She will be running nostalgic video games in the Dabble Box on Wednesday, November 16th from 5:30-7:30pm.
Last, but certainly not least, our teen librarian, Andria, will be running Teen Game On! in the Teen Lounge and will provide snacks, a Wii, and other fun games for the night of Tuesday, November 22nd starting at 2pm.
So, let’s GAME ON!
