One of Information & Reference staff’s favorite things to do is to connect people to our library’s free digital resources. From Freading to freegal, we love teaching customers how to use these services. And now we have a new service we would love to teach you how to use so you can start learning Shakespearean insults such as, “You scullion, you rampallion, you fustilarian!,” or polish your high school French, or learn how to speak Finnish before your trip to Helsinki.
It is Mango Languages, and here is a walk-through on how to set-up your account today, but you are always more than welcome to stop by Information & Reference on the second floor and ask a staff member to assist you!
Step 1. Navigate to the library’s home page:
Step 2. Click on the “Explore” link on the blue header:
Step 3. Select the Databases box:
Step 4. Select Mango Languages:
Step 5. Click “Sign Up” in the upper right-hand corner!
Step 6. Select a language from the icons, or use the search function to find a language:
Step 7. Create your free profile using your L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library card:
Step 8. Start Learning!
And is there an app for that?
Why yes, there is! But you will first need to set-up your unique account either on a computer through the library’s portal, or in your phone’s browser. If you have any questions, please contact Information & Reference staff at 715-839-5004, or stop by our desk on the second floor.
“Bon courage pour vos études!”
