Some of My Favorites!

I am sure that everyone realizes by now that reading is one of my favorite things and I like some genres more than others!  I have found several new (to me) authors in the last few weeks and I wanted to share my most recent favorites that you can check out here at the library!  Click on the links below to put them on hold!

Jennifer McQuiston’s Diary of an Accidental Wallflower offers up a classic plot where a poor working class citizen meets a wealthy upper class one and they fall in love.  This type of story always has the main characters trying to figure out how to stay together and there is often much angst, clandestine meetings and a lot of passion!

However, this story has a twist!  In this tale, it’s the male hero who is a struggling physician trying to make ends meet and the heroine is a lady who is searching for a titled husband who would be “suitable” for her.  Miss Clare Westmore instantly feels a spark when she meets Dr. Daniel Merial, and watching them overcome their obstacles was very entertaining.  This is the first in a new series and I am looking forward to the second one!  Historical Romance novels continue to my one of my favorite genres.nine-women

Nine Women, One Dress is a debut novel by Jane Rosen.  I hope that she is writing another book as we speak!  This book follows the life of one little black dress, actually THE black dress of the season from Bloomingdale’s, through the lives of nine different women.  Each of the women experience life changing events after they come in contact with the dress.  It’s a great story set in New York and it’s so much fun!  I loved how she connected each of the nine women together and wove the story to the dress.

Lastly, I highly recommendto-love-and-to-cherish To Love and to Cherish by Lauren Layne.  This is the third book in a trilogy and it was so good I had to go back to read books one and two!  Start
with To Have and To Hold .  This story features Wedding Belles owner Alexis.  Alexis has always thought her business was the most important part of her life and enough to make her happy.  However, after eight years her business partner Logan starts to make her wonder if that’s true.  Although she loves Wedding Belles it turns out it might be more than her business that she loves.   I loved watching this story unfold and couldn’t wait to go back and read the other stories.
